Bring the whole family to hear author and Academy Award-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson as she discusses the book and her new film Nanny McPhee Returns, in theaters August 20 (Universal Pictures). Nanny McPhee, played by award-winning actress and screen writer Emma Thompson, made her way into the hearts of moviegoers in 2005 in Nanny McPhee. Now fall in love with her again in the book and movie Nanny McPhee Returns. The book was written by Ms. Thompson who also created the screenplay for the film in which she stars and served as executive producer.     Nanny McPhee was inspired by the Nurse Matilda books written and illustrated by cousins Christianna Brand and Edward Ardizzone more than 50 years ago, which are tales based on a story told to them by their grandmother. Ms. Thompson grew up reading the Nurse Matilda stories and was so enamored of them she decided to bring them to life in her own screenplay and take on the title role. The movie was such a hit and an enjoyable experience, she wanted to continue the adventures of Nanny McPhee and wrote another screenplay, and a novel, Nanny McPhee Returns. The novel includes a behind-the-scenes film diary, bringing a delightful and unique perspective to a book that will be enjoyed by readers of all ages.   SORRY THIS EVENT IS FILLED TO CAPACITY!   Photo credit: Nick Haddow / Universal Pictures
