What's on the top of OUR Christmas list? No, not the iPad 2 (yawn)...a visit from Kate DiCamillo, of course! Why?! How about:
-She's the stunningly talented and Newbery Award-winning author of, among other beloved stories, Because of Winn Dixie, The Tale of Despereaux, The Magician's Elephant and Tiger Rising!
-She LOVES LOVES LOVES dogs!! (We all
do, too, but can't have them in the store because of our cats and our
chickens, which would be enemies and dinner, respectively, if we had
Fidos running around)
-She is our neighbor! (Read: she lives somewhere in Minneapolis, not
literally next door...that's Old Man Peabody, who smells like tuna and
prunes and has a weird obsession with flamingo clocks)
-She contributed a story to the just-released (and excellent) The Chronicles of Harris Burdick!
-Two words: Mercy Watson.
Um...hello? Do we really NEED to lay out the reasons!? We're talking
about Kate DiCamillo! She will be stopping by to say hi (and hopefully
stay awhile, too) on December 10th!! So mark your calendars and cross
off #1 on your own Xmas, list, too!

Our hearts swell when we think of the Okee Dokee Brothers. They are so great. Great musicians, great guys.
And kids love The Okee Dokee Brothers, too. We happen to know some 3 year olds who go into dance-and-pure-joy-frenzies when they hear just the opening chords of Tippy Toes.
That's why we're hosting a special after hours holiday concert with Joe and Justin. It's going to be great. You should come, and experience the greatness.
