Saturday, June 12 at 11 am: Bess the Bus Visits!
We all like reading, and we all want our kids to like books, too, right?
How about doing something good for other little ones in our very own city? Bess can help us with that. She's coming to town, and you don't want to miss her. She and her founder, Jessica, are driving around the country collecting book donations (from people like you) and servicing over 200 underpriveledged adults and children each week.
Come to Wild Rumpus this week or on Saturday to make a donation. We'll have books that you can buy for one measly dollar--plus, for every one that you buy, we'll match it with another book. If you buy a book worth $15, we'll donate a bunch of books. Your book donations will go to non-profits in the Twin Cities that serve kids who don't have access to many books.
One more thing you should know: There is a direct link between number of books in a person's home and literacy skills? AND higher literacy skills means greater success in life.
