When Pimiento the Chicken and Honey the Blind Ferret heard that Jarrett Krosoczka is coming to town, you can imagine that they went a little crazy with excitement.
OK, we're underplaying it. They went a lot crazy. And yes, it wasn't just those two, it was pretty much every animal in the store--even calm, cool, and collected Spike the Wise Lizard.
Why? We think you know why. And if you don't, you should hurry down to Wild Rumpus and pick up a copy of Punk Farm. It's about animals who get down and and rock at night, unbeknownst to the farmer.
We have a feeling that the Rumpus animals have taken a page from Jarrett Krosoczka, because more than once we've opened the store only to find furniture rearranged, cages opened, and, yes, musical instruments that we'd never seen before. Not to mention exhausted cats and ferrets.
So, the animals are overjoyed about Jarrett's upcoming visit (finally! someone who understands their nightlife and approves!). We're excited, too--because he's got a whole array of hilarious books which we absolutely love.
