Saturday, June 19 @ 2 PM: PINK ME UP! (A Father's Day Special Event)

If you've ever met someone who likes the color pink, or who likes dressing up, or--even better--who likes dressing up his or her father (especially in pink)...then boy oh boy, is this ever the event for that kid and that father! (And for anyone who enjoys watching mayhem and caterwauling.)

We were inspired by one of our favorite new picture books: Pink Me Up by Cherise Mericle Harper. Pink-obsessed Violet Bunny is supposed to go to a Pink-nic with her mom, but (gasp! oh no!) mom gets sick and can't go.

It's dad to the rescue! He doesn't have much to wear in the pink department, though, so he instructs Violet: "Pink me up!" And the fun ensues.

So come to Wild Rumpus the day before Father's Day to get your dads ready for the big day. We'll help kids spiff up their pops with pink stickers, feathers, boas, pipe cleaners, and even pink duct tape. These dads will be covered in Pepto Bismol covered decorations by the time they leave, if we have anything to do with it.

For pink-obsessed Violet Bunny, attending the Pink Girls Pink-nic and Tea Party with her mama is the best day of the year-you should see her outfit! It's always been girls-only, and pink-pink-pink. But when Mama wakes up with pink spots, the day seems ruined-until Daddy steps in to take her place. But Daddy is a boy, and not at all pink. What to do? Why, pink him up, of course. And with stickers, glitter, ribbons, and tape, the pink-nic becomes a daddy-daughter outing, and Violet's pinked-up daddy is the hit of the party. Violet realizes she can pink up anything-and she will! Here's a bunny-funny, sweet offering sure to please daughters and parents.
