Wild Rumpus is so pleased to welcome fabulous illustrator Zara González Hoang as she introduces her newest picture book, GATO GUAPO! Zara will read her new book for us, and then give a drawing demo, which is always such a treat! Maybe we'll even get to draw some little gatitos along with her! Miau!
Laugh and count along with this lively cumulative romp told in a lyrical blend of Spanish and English by Pura Belpré Honor-winning author Anika Aldamuy Denise and illustrator Zara Gonzalez Hoang!
Nine kittens follow Gato Guapo around, but when it's time to count them, one by one, they go missing, along with a piece of Gato Guapo's clothes!
Young readers will love all the silliness that ensues as each naughty gatito dons a disguise and declares "Yo soy Gato Guapo!".

Zara González Hoang once had a cat named Cat who fetched like a dog, now she only has a dog named Ziggy who doesn't fetch at all. She lives with her family outside of DC in a magical suburban forest filled with many creatures. She has no cats of her own, but she is regularly visited by the ones that roam the neighborhood who bring her unexpected "gifts", much to her dismay! In addition to being the illustrator of Gato Guapo, Zara is the author and illustrator of A New Kind of Wild and the illustrator of several picture books including Mi Casa is My Home and Measuring a Year.
