Her debut novel, Fat Chance, Charlie Vega, is a 2021 New England Book Award winner, a Cosmopolitan Best New Book, and a POPSUGAR Best New YA Novel. Her next novel, No Filter and Other Lies, explores teenage life in the social media age—and the lies we tell to ourselves and others. Her work has also been published in Latina, BuzzFeed, and the Hartford Courant. She lives in western Massachusetts with her husband, daughter, and dog.

Kate Albus writes historical fiction for young people. Her first book, A Place to Hang the Moon, received two starred reviews. She loves getting to know new characters, both by writing about them and reading about them. Kate graduated from Duke University, completed her doctoral work in child clinical psychology at the University of Delaware, and was a research psychologist for many years before stepping aside to raise a family. Kate grew up in New York and now lives with her husband and two children in rural Maryland. Other than writing, she loves baking, reading, knitting, and other activities that are inherently quiet.
